Meet Us

To understand who we are, we first must take you back. Back to a time long before recorded history. Back before Instagram, OpenAI, or even the Kardashians. A year known only as... 2009.

Founding members Kathryn Burns and Lindsay Hendrickson had an idea: What if we adapted longtime Upright Citizens Brigade show Quick & Dirty Musicals to something else? Something snappier and more on-the-nose? And thus, Quick & Funny Musicals was born.

For years, it operated as a variety show of 10-minute musicals at UCB in Los Angeles. In 2013, company members decided to formalize membership and began creating hour-long musical comedies. To date, our company has seen world-class alumni, such as Rachel Bloom, Jeff Hiller, and Eugene Cordero.

After the Covid-19 pandemic, Q&F was revitalized with a massive audition process and upwards of 10 new members who were hungry to take on new ideas, new shows, and new laughs! Since then, we have reliably performed in Los Angeles nearly every single month, presenting new shows up to 6 times per year.

In 2026, we developed fan-favorite Heated Rivalry: The Musical Parody! which celebrated 10 consecutive sold-out performances in LA, and a massively successful Edinburgh Fringe Festival run. We can’t wait to keep developing and performing new shows for years to come!
